RoomGPT can give me a new room concept. What makes me choose NovaVerto is being able to keep going: refine the details, switch models, compare versions and make a furniture shortlist.

I’m a co-founder of NovaVerto. This comparison explains why I prefer its workflow, using the original September browser trial and the product review on 3 October.

Where NovaVerto makes the difference against RoomGPT

I’ve chosen these comparison points specifically for RoomGPT. The final column explains why each matters to my preference for NovaVerto; it does not treat an untested competitor feature as absent.

What matters in this comparisonNovaVertoRoomGPTWhy it matters to my choice
Keep working after the first room ideaYes — Touches → More tools: 28 tools within the project.Tested — A compact room-and-style generation flow.I can move straight from the concept into a specific job instead of treating every decision as another full-room restyle.
Choose a model for the next attemptYes — 11 model families, search, filters and visible credit costs.Seen (free plan) — Basic (1), Pro (2) and Ultra (4 credits) quality tiers inspected again in the signed-in editor.NovaVerto gives me named model families with search and filters, beyond the three quality tiers I inspected in RoomGPT.
Set a palette and budget in the briefYes — Room, 23 styles, palette and budget; custom descriptions.Seen (free plan) — Room and style choices plus an optional-details field; the field is disabled in this zero-credit account, so tier access was not established.I can give the room more direction through visible controls. RoomGPT also exposes an optional-details field, but it was disabled in the current zero-credit account; I could not establish its paid-tier access.
Change one part of the roomYes — Walls, floor, lighting, windows and doors in the inspector. Not found (free plan) — No separate wall, floor or object-edit tool exposed in the inspected free editor and account menu.Dedicated wall, floor, lighting, window and door controls suit the smaller decisions I make after liking the overall direction.
Bring furniture into the designYes — Reference images; up to four furniture pictures/catalogue pieces. Not found (free plan) — The inspected editor has one room-photo upload; no separate furniture/reference-image input was exposed. The inspected placement flow accepts catalogue pieces or pictures, so I can start with something I actually want to keep or buy.
Keep the original and compare revisionsYes — Original plus version history, Hold for before and Compare. Not found (free plan) — No saved-project or version-history entry exposed in the inspected editor/account menu; zero credits prevented checking a fresh result.I can revisit the original and numbered versions in the workspace. No comparable saved-project entry was exposed in the RoomGPT editor/account menu I inspected.
Move from inspiration into shoppingYes — Retailer matches and saved list; current Pieces/List UI inspected. Not found (free plan) — No retailer or product-shopping entry exposed in the inspected editor or account navigation.NovaVerto’s retailer matches and saved list were used in the earlier test; that follow-through matters to my home project.
Review prices and shortlisted piecesYes — Offers per piece, prices, list total and area re-selection.Not found (free plan) — No offers, prices or saved shopping-list controls exposed in those inspected free-account views.Offers, item prices and a list total give me a practical next step after choosing a look.
Stage or clear the room deliberatelyYes — Virtual Staging and Declutter & Repair in the tool picker. Not found (free plan) — No separate staging or declutter mode exposed in the inspected room/style editor.I can choose a staging or decluttering task explicitly instead of relying on a general style change to do the job.
Use the same product beyond the roomYes — Exterior, garden, outdoor planner, balcony and front door.Seen (free plan) — Outdoor Patio is a selectable room type in the signed-in editor; a new outdoor render was not run.RoomGPT also has Outdoor Patio. I prefer NovaVerto’s separate garden, balcony, exterior and planning tasks for a wider set of home decisions.
See the cost of the chosen setupYes — Live credit estimate beside model, speed, size and variants.Tested — One, two or four credits by quality tier. The estimate sits beside the model and render settings, so I can decide how much to spend on the next attempt.

Tested = I ran it, in the September trial or the 3 October revisit. Seen / Not found (free plan) = what the free account showed on 3 October; not found there does not mean the paid product lacks it. Advertised = documented by the vendor, often on higher plans. Paywalled = my trial stopped at a subscription screen. Unconfirmed = I could not establish it either way. Edge = a specialist case where I would pick the competitor. NovaVerto’s column was checked in the logged-in app on 3 October. This is a workflow comparison, not a controlled image-quality score. NovaVerto in short

We built NovaVerto around the steps that come after “that room looks nice.” A new design starts with one of three routes, Redesign, Place furniture or Run a tool, and every run stays in the same project: the original photo, numbered versions, Hold for before and Compare.

More tools opens 28 focused tools from the room itself, from walls, floors, lighting, windows and doors to staging, decluttering, exterior, garden and balcony design. The model picker covers 11 model families with search, filters and the credit cost shown before I run: 65 credits for NovaVerto AI, 126 to 176 for the Gemini options at 1K.

After the render, Catalogue, Pieces and List turn the room into retailer offers with prices, a saved shortlist and its total. Placing furniture accepts up to four catalogue pieces or furniture pictures.

The full NovaVerto walkthrough in my comparison of all eleven tools covers each of these in more detail.

RoomGPT: a quick room idea, with less of the follow-through I want

RoomGPT gave me a straightforward path: choose a room type, pick a style and generate. In the original trial, signup supplied one free credit. The editor defaulted to Pro, which needed two, so I switched to Basic/Legacy and completed a Modern living-room render.

The result looked like a plausible design idea, but it changed the room significantly. The narrow room became wider, the windows changed and extra glazing appeared. That observation applies to the Basic result I tested; I did not generate with Pro or Ultra.

What makes me choose NovaVerto for a longer project is the next step. I have the original photo, version history, focused controls, several model families and a shopping list together. The optional prompt was disabled in the September Basic trial; the current zero-credit account also left it disabled, without establishing paid-tier access. I found no equivalent shopping workflow in the free views I inspected.

The September purchase screen showed $9 for 30 credits, with Basic, Pro and Ultra using one, two and four respectively. I could reopen the official purchase page in October, but its pack values were not exposed in the retrieved page, so those amounts remain dated reference prices. RoomGPT credit packs

I signed back into the existing free account on 3 October. The editor still offered Basic, Pro and Ultra, and Outdoor Patio was in its room-type menu. The account had no credits left. Its optional-details field was disabled in that state, so this revisit does not establish which paid quality tiers accept custom prompts. I found no shopping, separate surface-edit or saved-project entry in the editor and account menu I inspected; I could not inspect a fresh result. That narrower scope matters when comparing it with NovaVerto’s visible project and shopping controls.

Why I prefer NovaVerto: I can keep developing the room and turn a visual direction into specific edits and a furniture shortlist.

What a NovaVerto render actually costs

The cheapest current NovaVerto render is 65 credits. The current Standard offer is $17.99 for the first month, then $24.99 per month, with 7,000 credits per month. I’m showing both rates so the introductory saving and the ongoing cost are clear. Annual discounts are not used in these calculations. NovaVerto pricing

Observed setupCredits$17.99 first month$24.99 regular month
NovaVerto AI · cheapest render65$0.17$0.23
Gemini · Fast · 1K126$0.32$0.45
Gemini · Balanced · 1K149$0.38$0.53
Gemini · Best · 1K176$0.45$0.63

Calculation: the monthly price ($17.99 introductory or $24.99 regular) ÷ 7,000 × the displayed credit cost. These are allocation estimates, not separate pay-per-image prices. They assume the allowance is fully used and exclude credits spent on other actions. At 65 credits, 7,000 credits cover 107 complete renders with 45 credits left; dividing the full month’s charge across those 107 renders rounds to $0.17 with the introductory offer or $0.23 at the regular price. The introductory rate applies to the first month, not every renewal. Other models, sizes and variant counts change the cost.

The current plan cards list watermark-free renders and API access on Standard. Pro is $49.99 monthly for 13,000 credits and includes 2K/4K output; those resolutions were disabled with a Pro requirement in the free account I inspected. One-off credit packs are also available, with a 30-day validity period. Plans and credit packs

RoomGPT price context

This is the regular paid entry recorded in the September review. It is historical context, not a fresh checkout quote. NovaVerto’s table above separately shows the $17.99 first-month offer and $24.99 regular monthly price.

ToolReference paid entryApproximate unit cost on that basis
RoomGPT$9 / 30 credits; one-timeBasic $0.30; Pro $0.60; Ultra $1.20

Credits, source photos and unlimited plans represent different units. Unit-cost estimates assume full use of the relevant allowance; they do not measure rendering quality.

Why I’d choose NovaVerto

I’d choose NovaVerto when I want to develop a room over several decisions. The model picker, focused tools and shopping panels give the first render somewhere useful to go.

My starting point: use the 65-credit NovaVerto AI option for an initial direction, then explore the focused tools and furniture options around that result. At full allowance use, that is about $0.17 per render with the $17.99 first-month offer, or $0.23 at the regular $24.99 monthly price. Explore NovaVerto

Sources and what I actually checked

The original browser trials took place in September 2026. The September trial includes a completed RoomGPT generation, described above. NovaVerto also had a completed redesign and a saved shopping-list item. Photos, modes and prompts differed, so these observations are not a controlled image-quality benchmark.

On 3 October I inspected NovaVerto’s logged-in project workspace, New project/New run dialogs, Touches and its 28 tools, focused wall settings, model picker, speed and size menus, furniture-placement controls, shopping panels and live pricing. No new render or paid purchase was submitted during that revisit.

Official product and pricing pages were checked again on 3 October. Controls I inspected, completed September actions and vendor-documented features are labelled separately. Older prices stay dated where current amounts were not verified.

Free-access follow-up, 3 October: I signed back into the existing free account on 3 October.

  • NovaVerto: tool catalogue, pricing, assistant integration, and the logged-in UI inspection described above.
  • RoomGPT: product and credit packs; generation and quality-tier observations from September. Signed-in editor, room/quality selectors and account menu checked on 3 October; zero credits prevented a new result.

Disclosure: I’m a co-founder of NovaVerto. The recommendation reflects my preferences and the workflow we’re building. Observed controls, earlier completed tests and vendor claims are distinguished throughout; access to a tool does not guarantee identical results across photos or models.
